Wine Baked Peaches

Ingredients
- 1.8 yellow peaches, peeled
- 2.150 ml red wine, a Cabernet recommended
- 3.150 ml sugar
- 4.cinnamon, a sprinkling
- 5.5 cloves, whole
- 6.0.25 lemon, peeled and thinly sliced
Method
- 1.Place peaches in a baking dish.
- 2.Combine remaining ingredients and stir over gentle heat until the sugar has dissolved. Do not boil.
- 3.Pour over peaches and cover.
- 4.Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 30 minutes or until tender.
- 5.Baste frequently.
- 6.Serve at once or chill thoroughly before serving.
Notes
- If peaches are out of season, use canned peach halves. No need to cook for 30 minutes. The sauce should get a little syrupy and the peaches piping hot.
