Asparagus Baked in Oven

Ingredients
- 1.green asparagus, 500–750g / 1–1½ lbs; rinsed and trimmed
- 2.salt and pepper, to taste
- 3.45 gram butter, 3 tablespoons; dotted over asparagus
Method
- 1.Preheat oven to 150°C (300°F).
- 2.Rinse and trim the asparagus.
- 3.Place in a flat dish in one or two layers — dish must be just large enough to hold the asparagus.
- 4.Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Dot with butter.
- 5.Cover tightly with foil. Bake 30 minutes.
Notes
- Card note: 'Asparagus should be crunchy and will not change colour.'
- Serves 4; 95 calories per serving.
- Contrast with chilled-asparagus.yaml (1-minute boil + ice) — this is the hot oven version.
