Ingredients
- 1.2 herrings, soaked overnight; filleted and skinned
- 2.1 white bread, thickish slice; soaked in vinegar; squeezed out excess
- 3.vinegar, for soaking bread
- 4.1 green apple, large; peeled
- 5.2 eggs, hard-boiled
- 6.1 onion, small
- 7.sugar, to taste
Method
- 1.Soak the herrings overnight. Fillet and skin the herrings.
- 2.Soak the bread in vinegar, squeeze out excess.
- 3.Peel the apple. Mince the herrings, bread, apple, eggs and onion together.
- 4.Season with sugar and additional vinegar to taste.
- 5.Heap on platters and garnish.
