Country Bread

Ingredients
- 1.6 cup Nutty Wheat flour
- 2.2 cup crushed wheat
- 3.2 cup sunflower seeds
- 4.1 cup wheat germ
- 5.3 tablespoon golden syrup
- 6.2 tablespoon molasses
- 7.3 tablespoon oil
- 8.2 teaspoon salt
- 9.2 tablespoon fresh yeast, dissolved in 3 cups lukewarm water with 2 teaspoons sugar
Method
- 1.Mix all dry ingredients together, then add the yeast mixture a little by little until you have a nice moist dough.
- 2.Fill 2 loaf tins ¾ full.
- 3.Leave to rise for at least 2 hours.
- 4.Bake for 1 hour at 180°C.
Notes
- Nutty Wheat is a South African brand of wholegrain flour with added bran and wheat germ. Substitute with stoneground wholemeal flour.
- Fresh yeast can be substituted with 2 teaspoons dried active yeast or 1 teaspoon instant yeast.
