Fried Camembert Dessert

Ingredients
- 1.camembert, cut into equal portions
- 2.egg, beaten
- 3.breadcrumbs
- 4.oil, for frying
- 5.black cherry jam
- 6.300 millilitre cream, for whipping
- 7.15 millilitre icing sugar
- 8.vanilla essence, few drops
Method
- 1.Cut the camembert into equal portions.
- 2.Dip the camembert triangles into beaten egg and then into breadcrumbs.
- 3.Refrigerate until ready to serve.
- 4.Put the black cherry jam in a nice serving bowl.
- 5.Whip the cream with the icing sugar and the vanilla. Put in a serving bowl.
- 6.When ready to serve, fry the crumbed camembert in hot oil until golden brown.
- 7.Drain on paper towels.
- 8.Serve immediately with a blob of jam and a large spoon of the whipped cream.
- 9.Serve with a bowl of fresh fruit, halva and nuts.
Notes
- Card states: 'DO NOT SERVE ANOTHER DESSERT WITH THIS.' — this is a rich and substantial dessert.
- The camembert is hot on the outside, cold on the inside. You also have a contrast of salt and sweet.
- This dessert is an interesting mixture of tastes.
