  1. 1.Grate the butter into the bowl and cream well with sugar.
  2. 2.Add egg. Beat well.
  3. 3.Add milk and water mixture and mix well.
  4. 4.Add baking powder, flour and salt. Mix well. Dough should be soft but workable.
  5. 5.Roll on a floured board until thin. Cut out various shapes.
  6. 6.Beat an egg in a glass and brush the biscuits generously with egg wash.
  7. 7.Dip each biscuit in sugar.
  8. 8.Place biscuits fairly closely on a greased baking sheet.
  9. 9.Bake in a 400°F (200°C) oven until golden brown.
