Ingredients
- 1.1 red cabbage, large; roughly shredded
- 2.1 onion, small; sliced or shredded
- 3.salt, to taste
- 4.45 millilitre salad oil
- 5.185 millilitre vinegar
- 6.185 millilitre sugar
Method
- 1.Mix the cabbage and the onion. Sprinkle with salt.
- 2.Coat with the oil.
- 3.Season with the vinegar and the sugar.
- 4.Refrigerate and taste when the juices start to form.
- 5.Adjust the seasoning, if necessary.
Notes
- A sweet-and-sour pickled cabbage salad. Best made a few hours ahead to allow the juices to develop.
