Thicky-Sticky Chocolate Sauce

Ingredients
- 1.100 gram dark chocolate, broken into pieces
- 2.120 gram unsalted butter
- 3.0.5 cup cocoa powder
- 4.0.5 cup golden syrup
- 5.0.5 cup cream, reduce for a thicker sauce
Method
- 1.Melt butter in a saucepan.
- 2.Take off the heat and add the chocolate. Stir until melted.
- 3.Stir in the cocoa, golden syrup and cream.
- 4.Return to gentle heat, stirring all the time, until the sauce is smooth and has the right consistency.
Notes
- Wonderful for dipping fruit into — strawberries, banana slices, dried apricots.
- Handwritten variation: 'Chocolate Treat with ½ cup cream + brandy' — replace dark chocolate with a tin of Caramel Treat and add a splash of brandy.
